Yes! I would personally recommend Youmacon out of all the midwestern conventions. It's large and located in Detroit. Already a very large convention, they're making it even larger now this coming year being at both Cobo Hall and the RenCen (skyscrapers+hotels, the con takes up the entire place, it's crazy) due to the extreme increase of attendees every year.
TL;DR Go to Youmacon. A VERY fun and large convention in Michigan.
Oklahoma needs some FDP love too! We have Tokyo N Tulsa coming up July 20th - 22nd. I wish I could help fund your travel cost, but sadly I'm not even a legal adult yet. I HAVE NO RIGHTS. D:
ACen just like happened, but seriously, come to RamenCon. Last year was the first year, but UGHHHH it's so fantastic!!! The people are amazing, like really. It's in september this year. please please please come. I'll probably faint, but still...
If you can get your stuff together really quick, Fargo CoreCon is happening this weekend in Moorhead, MN. It's fairly small, but that's a big part of the charm! This year's theme is Apocalypse. Zombies, robots, plague, Armageddon, Steampunk, whatever, really. I'll be helping my dad with his vending table and the art show, possibly opening the cartoon room (not the anime rooms, though), as well as maybe hosting a game in the game room. It would be beyond awesome if you could come!
