Alcon 2012What an amazing con. It topped last year's Alcon (hence the chant buzzing around the con "Best Alcon Ever") and I was just so happy to be a part of that and meet so many amazing people that my Facebook literally exploded after the con ended. EXPLODED WITH MANLY RELISH THAT IS. I was going to wait until I had all the photos from the con before typing out this journal but meh, I've got time now and I've got energy SO LET'S CONQUER THIS SLIDE!!!
Myself, VandorWolf and Valdrein got into London Saturday morning and after going through the obstacle course that is the International Visitors way through Gatwick airport we were greeted by a sleepy KellyJane who had woken up at 5am or something crazy like that to come get us at the airport (weloveyou). We spent the day with Parle in stinky plane clothes and with about 3 hours of sleep each which just made everything far more magical (except for the magic show we watched in Oxford Circus which was crap... I mean what kind of magici
Alcon 2012 and EnglandIt's been a crazy two weeks here in Vancouver for us XD We were guests at two of our cons in Vancouver which were on back to back weekends! It was a lot of fun but it's been cosplay-o-rama and con-o-rama none-stop for 2 (going on 3) weeks. Alcon will be our third con, so we're prepping and resting up for it so that we can show everyone the best time possible and have an absolute blast ourselves! Last year was amazing, this year is sure to be 100% better with :iconvaldrein: coming along. I'm so excited to see Parle and our friends from Alcon and Banzaicon again! I've missed you guys!!!!!!!!! Plus I can't wait to meet new people at Alcon this year I'll watch the rain as I touch all your faces... and something about fire... I don't actually know the song I just use it out of context.
We're running a number of panels at the con, including one we're doing for the first time (Makeup Panel). We'll also be premiering Episode 3 of Kingdom Bros which is, for lack of a better word, terrifying.
Aang for a Cure: FDP Charity FundraiserHello everyone!
I've been thinking for the last month or so about FDP's next charity event. It's been a while since Nova's Pray for Japan campaign (relief for tsunami victims) and I figured that it might be time for another project.
I've been talking for years about shaving my head to cosplay Aang. He's my favourite character in The Last Airbender, and although I've cosplayed him before that was a while ago (aka I'm not satisfied with that costume XD). To kick my ass into gear to do this, I've decided to shave my head for cancer research. Shaving off hair for cancer fundraisers is a pretty common thing to do, but this time there's a twist when you make a donation of any size to any cancer society (I've provided links to some major ones, but feel free to donate to any local organizations or organizations in your country that I may have missed!) reply to this message and include 1) Where you made a donation to 2) Who you want to shave Aang's head: Sokka, Zuko, Azula, Katara or Toph
Peeta's Bread Loaf- Hunger Games Parody MVI recorded a Hunger Games parody of "Boombox" as a surprise for my friends for the midnight showing of the movie last year. At the time I tried making a music video/lip dub for it but failed horribly because at the time we had no tripod and I had no one around to help me so whatareyougonnadoooo. Recently we got a new tripod (YAYYYY) so I decided to take another shot at it. The result it this:
I know, I know, I'm a bad singer. But I really like working with Garage Band to make parody songs, so it's something I want to keep trying my hand at. And hey! Maybe my voice will get better over time?? (LIES)
But who am I kidding I'm trying to improve on everything XD editing, acting, sewing, craft, theoretical physics... 4 years later and I'm still learning, forever learning! 8D
Anyway, hope you guys enjoy! We like to switch up our genre/style and series focus a lot so this is just something else that's
We're coming to Ontario! N2U Nov 16th-18thAnyone out there from Ontario? More specifically Ottawa? Because Nova and I have been invited as guests to N2U in Ottawa, Ontario! We're thrilled to go and see all of the folks at the other side of Canada that we thought we'd never see! I can't wait to meet everyone, run some panels for you guys, premiere a new video (more on that coming soon!), take photos, chat, hang out-- It's going to be a BLAST! We've never been to a Canadian convention outside of BC before, this is a first!
Nova and I also wanted to do something extra special for you guys at N2U. We're going to be bringing Avatar to N2U, but that will be the only new cosplay we're wearing. The other two days we're leaving up to you guys! What do YOU want to see us cosplay again? You can suggest whatever you like here: http://twinfools.deviantart.com/journal/poll/3189052

Anime Revolution Review + Avatar VideoAnime Revolution ended a few days ago and I'm still riding that con high! In my opinion it was a stellar con with a really clean and professional atmosphere/vibe. It was the con's first year, but to me it ran (and looked) like a much more experienced con. I've heard a lots of criticism of the con, but not from the people I ran into at the con itself. Everyone I came across seemed to be in really good spirits and had a positive opinion of the con. I know that there are some tensions are Vancouver cons at the moment, but in my opinion the more the better! I'm not going to side with one con or another, to me that'd be silly, I want all the cons to succeed cause if my hometown was con central than I'd never be bored!!! WHICH IS AWESOME!
I want to send a huge thank you to all of the people who attended our panels. They were all either full-capacity or over-capacity (like the Wig Panel, sorry to the people who had to sit in the aisle or stand in the back!). My only real issue with how the co
Con updates, new FDP videos, FDP's Korra seriesWe're buckling down with costume making and filming in preparation for our end of August con-a-pooloza XD it's 3 cons almost one after the other! Super stoked for all three cons but at the moment I'm just hoping that we get everything done (and that wigs arrive on time!!! D
I miss our Alcon peeps so bad D: it's been too long!!! Can't wait to introduce :iconvaldrein: to all the awesome Alcon peeps that we met last year and hopefully a bunch of new faces this year! And of course I can't wait to hang with the Parle crew again! I've missed their sweet yet robust faces, CHinforming before my eyes whilst battling nipple-less spectres.
I'll be posting my costume plans as soon as I get the remaining wigs I need, it all comes down to the wigs man!!!!
One thing I will put out there for Alcon go-ers, though... we'll be premiering a new episode of Kingdom Bros during our Q & A pane at Alcon l! We're filming it AS WE SPEAK (or in... I dunno... a half hour from now?) so as long as no one fa
A look back on 2011What a year it's been! I definitely learned a lot about myself this year, and I've also had some experiences of a lifetime that I won't soon forget
Chest surgery, February 2011: a life changing experience for me, really. I can swim, I can use the men's showers and locker room at the gym, I walk with my chest out instead of slumped inward... it made summer a time of enjoyment rather than one of hot discomfort and longing. I'm looking forward to my revision in Feb 2012
Allergic Reaction/Face Spots Post-Surgery, February 2011-July 2011: I was on top of the world! I was so confident in my looks and I will even venture to say that I was vain and self-absorbed. I was hit was a major breakout of spots and bumps on my face after surgery. it was so embarrassing and it really took a toll of my confidence and my willingness to cosplay/be on camera/be in public. It was such a little thing, but it effected me so profoundly... it really forced me to think about what I
Giveaway, Emerald City Comic Con and Arcade ConLONG TIME NO POST EH? Sorry about the absence, it's been a little busy over the past few months and I haven't had too much to post about anyway XD But some new stuff has come up as of late so hereeeeee we go!
After looking for a few things in my closet today I pulled out some old costumes and realized that I don't fit them anymore. Most notably Kuja and Davis In the case of Davis I can't even get the jacket over both shoulders XD I've decided to give this stuff away, so my Kuja wig and my Davis cosplay (jacket and shorts) are up for grabs in a contest via my Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Twin-Fools/184111744943027?fref=ts
Just share the link! Contest ends Tuesday Jan 29th :3
Emerald City Comic Con
Some of us will be at Emerald City Comic Con in March! I just bought tickets so I'm excited that plans for this con are actualizing Not 100% sure on cosplay plans yet, that'll come a bit closer to the date.
One thing about this con is that it comes
Can everyone just..Go tell someone you love them.
Even if it is random & out of the blue.
Even if you feel like a total doofus.
Go tell your friends, family, lover, neighbor, your neighbor's dog, a squirrel.. Go on a love spree.
You never know if it is the last time you'll see them.
If you're fighting with someone, stop. Tell them you love them. You never know if that would be the last time you talk to them.
Make life full of love. Not regrets.
That is all.
Thank you allFirst, I want to apologize for the weird week I've caused. I usually don't allow myself to post such emotional journals like my recent one.
I'm going to be a doo-doo head & give you my excuse of, "I wasn't having a good week." & that incident was kind of one of the last straws that blew my top hat off and turned me into the hulk.:iconthehulkplz:
or something like that. LOL
Thank you all so much for the insane amount of Happy Birthday wishes & gifts.
I tried my best to thank all of you, but there's just so many of you sweet people that I can't get to all of you! AAH.
As for my birthday events... I actually was called into work & worked overtime, so, once I got home the plans promised to me didn't happen because of.. things.. Etc etc.
I dealt with a bit too much bad news, I'm pretty tolerant of a few bad things happening, but it was just.. generally not a "good" day. (Or week, I guess you could say. xD) With the anniversary of Luckey passing away, people around me hav
I want to educate some people.I want to educate some people.
If you decide to read, thank you. I hope no one takes offense to this and has an open mind when reading. If you don't read this, fine. Just don't be surprised if you end up doing what I'm about to explain, you get snapped at for it somewhere down the road.
It is common curtousy to not question someone you don't really know. Right?
You're walking down the street and see a gentleman in a wheelchair with cuts and scars all over.
Typical initial reaction: Oh, that person has been through something to make him that way. Try not to stare and continue about your business.
You wouldn't run up to that stranger and ask in their face, "HEY MAN. WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU? WHAT ARE ALL THOSE MARKS ON YOUR SKIN? WHY ARE YOU MISSING A LEG? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR ARM? WHY ARE YOU SO WEIRD LOOKING?"
Why would you do it on the internet...?
Is it because it's the internet and you feel like
IT'S MIDNIGHT. YA KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS? IT'S :iconartlover4life:'S BIRTHDAY!
HAPPY BIRTHFART TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHWART TOOO YOUU
HAPPY BIRTHDART DEAR :iconartlover4life:
HAPPY BIRTHSHART TO YOU!
Just saying, Lala's Vid, July BirthdaysI was thinking today how I needed to make a journal out of this and share it with you all.
Today was the first time I've been outside in weeks. (I was sick). However Alot of times I wouldnt go outside because I honestly would either hate the way I look, or didnt want people to see my skin. Today, I felt a lot better so I wanted to make myself go out. My skin looked really bad, and I hate going out cause of my weight. Thats such a silly thing to say, but honestly it does get me down sometimes.
My mom asked me if I wanted to go shopping today with her. I normally say no, but something made me just.. really want to go outside. I was reaching for my shorts and then my mom grabbed my dress and asked if I wanted to wear it out. Honestly I didnt know if I did or didnt. Usually if I do go out I dont try to look good. In fact I usually just run around in shorts, short sleeve shirt, flip flops, no make up, and hair in a pony tail xD I was staring at my skin at the time.. and I knew th
Saboten Con Line-Up and Stuff!Yeah! Stuff!
So Saboten is in a week. Thankfully I'm not frantically trying to get stuff done because for the most part...it is done. Speaking of not trying to get stuff done--I'm in a really tough and demanding semester, so I won't be sewing very much. I'm taking a little break until December or otherwise stated. So we'll see what happens then.
But anyway, Saboten is coming up and I'm most definitely looking forward to it! I'm particularly excited for this year for a number of reasons. One: it's probably the best con in Arizona, two: it's in a new, fabulous location, three: we have fabulous panels selected, four: we have an awesome skit lined up for the masquerade, and five: pikminlink, the cosplayer I look up to the most is going to be a guest there.
Here's my line-up!

OK SO.. AnimeFest...
We only got to go on Saturday, as Tucker, Sam & Danny from Danny Phantom. But after hanging out with everyone & having such a fun time (& running around buying things like MAD) We wanted to try and come back on Sunday, but we obviously couldn't. We didn't ice skate at all either. I was really looking forward to it too! TDT Even after meeting a lot of new and old friends, we still didn't get to meet up w
Taiyou ConTaiyou con is this weekend! Oz, SWP, and Valda will have an artist alley table! We will be selling a few 4x6 cosplay prints! More specifically, Oz will be selling keychains (Vocaloid, Pandora Hearts, etc...) and fanarts, SWP will be selling flower hairpins, and Valda will be selling "Rin" bows ((cotton) white, (satin) light/dark blue, purple, black etc...) Cheshire will be running around taking pictures. It will be a pretty relaxed con.
*Just a heads up for anyone planning to buy anything from us, we do not have a credit card reader and can only accept cash.
UPDATE: Whatever we do not sell at Taiyou, we will most likely sell online probably through Ebay
Anyway, thank you to all of our new watchers and thanks for the support!
Kuroshitsuji live action movie! [EDIT] + trailerHey everyone!
This is a journal with the updated information about the up-coming Kuroshitsuji live action movie!
Mizushima Hiro will play Sebastian Michaelis, while the role of "Kiyoharu" will be played by Ayame Gouriki (picture http://images.sankakucomplex.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/black-butler-ayame-goriki-movie-1-468x623.jpg) Looks like there will be no Ciel in this movie.
The anime director Sato Keiichi will co-direct this move together with Otani Kentaro, man behind the live action movie of "NANA".
The story will be an original, according to the news. It will take place 130 years after the original manga storyline.
Updates reveals it will take place around the year 2020 and is set in Asia.
The storyline in the movie is as follows:
"The story is set in Asia in 2020 when West and East cultures are mixed in confusion. A young girl Genpou Shiori is a descendant of the the Phantomhive noble family. Shiori runs a large enterprise, Funtom Company, and she disguises herself in male a

How It Began"God, your two o'clock is here."
"I have a two o'clock?"
"He's been here since 7:45. I figured it's only polite to... sir."
God sighed. "Fine, send him in."
While He waited God cleared His desk of papers and blueprints; no need for outsiders to see His plans. Soon enough the door to His office opened and God stood, smiled, held out a hand towards one of the two visitor's chairs.
"God! Great stuff you're doing in sector 2-7-0! Great stuff!"
The man's hands were clammy, his handshake limp. Rumpled suit, porkpie hat, briefcase... oh Jes-- oh dear, a salesman. God's smile slipped a little but He soldiered on gamely. With luck He could shoo the poor guy away in a few minutes.
"So, what can I do for you?"
The man sat, briefcase across his knees. "Sector 2-7-0! Everyone's talking about it! What do you call it? Man and merman?"
"Man and woman, actually. And thanks. But we're pretty busy around here, and..."
"Oh! Right! No time for the wicked, eh?" The salesman winked and popped his briefcase,
