I LOVE Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I picked up the first book on a whim as something to read while I was on a plane to Wisconsin. And at first i thought it was so lame. "Happy Potter goes to summer camp with a Greek twist" is what i thought, but for some reason i was compelled to read the second book. After the second book, the third book and then just for the hell of it the fourth. By that point I was hooked. It's an awesome series, and i love almost all of the characters so much. I wanted to cosplay Percy from the very beginning, but I also want to do Luke and Nico at one point as well . And, of course, Nova is being my lovely Annabeth [link]
I might use a different wig, but first i want to see how I like this more "anime" inspired one. I just can't do the whole plain flat wig thing T_T I have to style and add some shape XD Anyway, we'll see how it goes. But for now, this is a preview of my Percy Jackson cosplay!
I encourage people to give this series a try. It is pretty cheesy but the characters and plot really do take a more mature turn in the later books. The character development is amazing. There is alot of deeper meaning that really takes advantage of Greek mythology.
Yes, just yes! Oh, and just a few tips, as I've (secretly) got a Percy Jackson costume. You can actualy order an orange Camp Half-Blood t-shirt off the internet, and it looks REALLY nice. I've had the same one for almost 3 years now. Second, you know how demigods are given a bead for their leather necklaces at the end of every summer? Well, these are very simple to make. Just roll balls out of clay and stick a toothpick through the center of them. Bake them, then look in the books for what's on each of that character's beads.
Lol sorry for the long comment, you've probably already finnished this, I just thought that as a part-time cosplayer I'd share a few of my tips!
I really liked the second book of Percy Jackson a lot. At the end of every book they make you want to read the next one. Kind of like naruto episodes. ^_^
