Jack Frost- Impishby *twinfools

Another shot of Jack Frost 2.0, and yes my feet were very cold XD

This time around I made the frost by putting my thumb against the centre of a bristle brush, which made it fan out. I then watered down white paint A LOT and with that I patted the brush against the hoodie. I did firmer "patting" at the base of the neck, shoulder and around the pocket/cuffs and went lighter as I went up. I also added in light strokes with the brush that I did in a loose criss-cross pattern because there is a fibrous pattern to ice/frost. After that was done I watered down some white paint (this time with less water) and did the same thing but as a more visible layer.
After that was all down I finished off the frost with light spraying of silver spray paint.

The pants were done in a very similar way except that there was brown spray paint used to give the pants the "rough'd up" look.

I'm a painter, and I'm especially impressed with your frost effects. Thanks for explaining how you did it.

Have you ever looked at the Golden Acrylic media gels? They seems like something that you would find all kinds of uses for. There are fiber paste gels (might be very good for heavier frost effects), clear media with tiny beads, modeling pastes with marble powder, lightweight foam media, crackle media, as well as a variety of fluid media, some of which are specifically designed to stiffen fabric. All of them can be mixed with acrylic paint.
